It has been a busy fall here at OnTopp Stables. We traveled to White Rose Equestrian Center for their fun show and had our own well attended Fun Show here at the Stables. We ventured over and showed successfully at the combined show at TTC in Mocksville. We’ve had lots of opportunities to learn and have fun with our horses. Friendships are being built both between the two-legged and four-legged variety. Hopefully, some will last a lifetime.
The second weekend of October we had the privilege to have a clinic here with Christian Baier originally from Sweden but who now runs a successful training barn together with his wife in McKrell outside of Memphis, Tennessee. It was a great weekend and we all learned a lot. As of now, we are planning on bringing Christian back in April of 2020 so if you are interested in joining us please keep your eyes open for the next date. |

![]() ARAGON is a 20-year-old Shetland Pony with plenty of sass. He loves little kids and he loves to give bigger kids trouble. This has been the year when his jumping career has taken off and he is now making it over cross rails with style. |
We are planning on having our next training day for our barn rat kids in February. If you or your daughter or son wants some more barn time after school or on the weekends, please talk to us. We always have opportunities for some working hours. We need help from walkers (for our beginner lessons) to general barn work.
We are adding another person to our teamHer name is Taylor and she is from Memphis, TN. She has ridden since she was 9 years old and has found a way to keep horses a part of her life ever since. Taylor originally started working long hours in the barn to earn lessons, developing her skills up to competition level and has had the privilege to train young horses. Over the course of her riding career, she has received training from internationally recognized equine professionals in riding and course design. Any free time she has, she enjoys rock climbing, snowboarding and going on long hikes with her dog. She is a passionate equestrian and we hope that with her knowledge and experience she will be a great addition to our team. |

Horses have many superficial nerves in their faces. They are very sensitive to pressure and an ill-fitting bridle can cause all kinds of long term problems. This is why here at OnTopp stables, we stress the importance of learning the proper way to fit a bridle. |
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and aHappy and Blessed New Year!![]() The Leidy family

![]() I have also had the privilege to ride two of my horses in different clinics and I have taken both dressage and jumping lessons. It is very important to me that I keep my own learning going and never think that I know enough. The horses are my best teachers but I also need other eyes on my riding and different perspectives on what I am dealing with. My goal for 2020 is to get back out and show recognized dressage with both Pearl and Sophie. |
